                               students and their adult sponsors.

What?:                   Amplify is a worship team that uses music, discipleship,
                               mentoring, scripture memorization, drama, evangelism,
and basically whatever God wants us to do.

Where?:                 Amplify meets in the Truth Building (Youth area), the
Music Suite, & the Main Auditorium

When?:                   Sundays 4:30 pm till 5:45 pm (Truth Building)
Sundays 6:00 pm till 7:00 pm (Main Auditorium)

How?:                    Amplify uses the unique gifts, skills, and abilities of young
people and their adult sponsors to share, by whatever media
allowable, the Gospel message of Jesus Christ to anyone
who will listen. The style of this message can sometimes be
anything from  traditional to contemporary, or even a little edgy.
Amplify will challenge the listener/worshipper to respond to
     the Gospel.

FBC Gilmer

Speaker:  Dr. Rodney Woo fromWilcrest Baptist Church, Houston, TX

He is a graduate of ETBU and SBTS.  He is a professor at the seminary and Houston Baptist University. Dr. Woo travels extensively preaching God’s Word, as well as training pastors how to become a multiracial congregation.  He has written a new book, “The Color of Church”, which tells about the transformation of Wilcrest Baptist Church.  The book will be used as a teaching tool for pastors, seminary students, lay leaders and anyone interested in multiracial ministry.  Dr. Woo also co-authorized a book with Dr. Michael O. Emerson entitled, “People of the Dream”.  He and his wife Sasha, have three sons: Austin, Hudson and Samuel.

Dr. Woo will have copies of his book available for purchase: "The Color of Church"  unfolds the story of how God has helped Wilcrest understand the biblical principles of a multiracial church that He progressively revealed in Scripture. Each chapter parallels the biblical model or mandate and the Wilcrest transformation story from a uniracial to a multiracial congregation.
