Discipleship cannot be simplified to a bank of classes or reduced to a Sunday afternoon meeting. Discipleship is not an event; it is a lifestyle. It is not a sprint; it is a marathon. It is not a destination; it is a "journey". If we fully understand what it means to be a Disciple of Jesus Christ, we know it is a lifelong process that encompasses every aspect and avenue of our lives. Journey is designed to assist you in your growth as a disciple. It will include classes, resources, events, ministries, mission trips, and whatever else God provides to create an environment of motivation to spiritual growth to help you in your lifelong pursuit of becoming like Jesus.
Each semester of Journey will offer at least one opportunity in each of the four relationships (Upward, Inward, Outward, Forward). The sessions will always be limited to six or fewer and the events and mission ventures will always be held to the lowest cost possible. Each class will have curriculum associated with it and we would like to ask each attendee to consider making a donation of $10.00 to cover the cost of materials. Additional costs will be clearly stated up front. (If you are unable to make a donation, please do not allow it to hinder your participation). Please contact Pat Ellison our Education Ministry Assistant to either discover more information or register for an upcoming Journey class. You may reach Pat at 903.843.2572 or e-mail her.
